What we're looking for

Curated for You's mission is to help retailers connect their products to customers' lifestyles and purchase intentions. We use cutting-edge social science and AI to measure and predict consumers' perceptions of fashion. If you want to get in on the ground floor at one of the fastest-growing Austin tech startups for e-commerce, this job is for you.

We seek a detail-oriented engineer who loves designing state-of-the-art apps and APIs, is fluent in scaling cloud architecture, and is collaborative. E-commerce experience or machine-learning ops experience is a big bonus. If you have these skills and are fascinated with building software that combines social science with the latest in AI and machine learning, we would love to speak with you.

Location

  • Full-Time

  • Austin-based or Remote (U.S.)

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and build scalable cloud solutions for data integration, RESTful APIs, and web applications.

  • Build out integrations with e-commerce APIs.

  • Drive standards for API performance to optimize for speed, volume, integrity, and cost depending on project-specific constraints.

  • Build systems and tooling for monitoring and testing.

  • Strategize which combination of cloud services to use for CFY's needs. Specifically, application hosting, database systems, ML Ops, CI/CD, and REST APIs.

  • Provide leadership to future CFY tech developers regarding onboarding, best practices and communicating standards.

  • Inform the team of new developments in relevant tech that impact business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented.

  • Time management skills, ability to effectively develop under deadlines.

  • Promote an optimistic and friendly culture in a global team.

  • Programming skills in NodeJS, VueJS (or some familiarity with Vue if well fluent with REACT), and Python, as well as a desire to learn new tools specific to proprietary e-commerce app marketplaces.

  • Track record of previously built and scaled Applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Express, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of database design and optimization

  • Fluency with essential GCP development tools (cloud architecture) for scaling

  • Query skills include SQL (Postgres, Microsoft SQL server, etc.), NoSQL, Vector DB, Big Query, or alternative data querying systems.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with design, data, and ML teams without sacrificing the integrity of the technology.

  • Minimum five years of full-time experience; two years in team leadership capacity.
