What we're looking for

The Insights Manager will be responsible for detecting third-party buying signals for fashion retailers by analyzing why consumers make purchases. This role focuses on leveraging data from social platforms and search trends to identify and quantify emerging trends. The ideal candidate has strong experience in trend detection and is capable of gathering both quantitative and qualitative insights to predict upcoming shifts in the fashion industry.

Responsibilities

  • Trend Detection: Leverage data like TikTok, Pinterest, Google Trends, APIs (weather.com), social listening, and more – to identify fashion trends and quantify their magnitude over time. Monitor trend evolution and provide insights into percentage changes in consumer interest.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to detect shifts in consumer behavior. Use primary and secondary sources to conduct exploratory and confirmatory research, ensuring trends are backed by solid evidence.

  • Buying Signals: Detect third-party buying signals and anticipate consumer motivations, providing retailers with actionable insights that help them respond to current and upcoming trends.

  • Trend Forecasting: Collaborate with teams to provide predictive insights on what will happen next in fashion. Develop trend reports that will guide product development and marketing strategies.

  • Cross-Platform Insights: Extract insights across a variety of platforms, understanding how trends on TikTok, Pinterest, and search engines reflect broader shifts in consumer sentiment and behavior.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, and merchandising teams to ensure insights are integrated into strategy and decision-making processes.

  • Report Creation and Sharing: Develop and share comprehensive reports with retailers that highlight emerging trends and provide actionable recommendations for retailers.

  • App Updating: Requires uploading reports to the CFY App for sharing across retailers.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in trend detection, data analysis, or insights management, preferably within fashion, retail, or consumer goods industries.

  • Proven track record of using social platforms and search trends (TikTok, Pinterest, Google Trends, etc.) to gather and analyze consumer behavior data.

  • Experience in identifying both quantitative and qualitative trends, and using them to make predictions about future consumer behavior.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and sales teams to align insights with business strategy.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present data and insights clearly and compellingly.

  • Data-driven mindset with experience using trend forecasting tools and methodologies.

Bonus

  • Experience with social listening tools or platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Brandwatch).

  • Fashion industry experience.

  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior in the e-commerce space.

  • Experience working with B2B fashion retailers or trend forecasting agencies.
